St. Vincent & Bequia Yacht Charter: The Gateway to the Grenadines

Admiralty Bay, Bequia

St. Vincent & Bequia Yacht Charter

At the northern entrance to the Grenadines, St. Vincent & Bequia combine dramatic volcanic scenery with one of the Caribbean's most celebrated sailing islands. St. Vincent rises steeply from the sea with rainforest-covered mountains, waterfalls, black-sand beaches, and secluded bays, while Bequia lies just nine miles to the south with white-sand beaches, sheltered anchorages, and an unmistakable maritime character.

For yacht charter guests, the area works beautifully as both an embarkation point and a destination in its own right. Blue Lagoon and Young Island provide convenient access to the southern coast of St. Vincent, while crossing to Bequia leads directly into Admiralty Bay and Port Elizabeth, one of the most yacht-friendly harbours in the Grenadines.

From here, a charter can continue naturally south toward Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, and the Tobago Cays, but there is plenty worth exploring before moving on. Spend the morning beneath St. Vincent's lush volcanic peaks, cross to Bequia for lunch ashore, swim from Princess Margaret Beach, and finish the day at anchor beneath the green hills surrounding Admiralty Bay.

Why St. Vincent & Bequia Is a Perfect Yacht Charter Area

This region offers one of the strongest contrasts anywhere in the Grenadines. St. Vincent is wild, mountainous, and intensely tropical, with dense rainforest, waterfalls, volcanic beaches, and excellent diving, while Bequia feels smaller, calmer, and deeply connected to generations of sailors and boatbuilders.

Bequia is particularly rewarding by yacht. Admiralty Bay is a large natural anchorage protected from the prevailing winds, with Port Elizabeth positioned directly along its waterfront. Moorings, provisioning, restaurants, marine services, and easy dinghy access make it an exceptionally comfortable place to spend one or several nights during a Grenadines itinerary.

For guests beginning a longer charter, St. Vincent & Bequia also provide an ideal introduction to the archipelago. You can experience rainforest adventures and island culture ashore, swim from secluded Caribbean beaches, enjoy relaxed waterfront dining, and then continue south into progressively smaller and more remote islands. It is the perfect transition from the dramatic landscapes of St. Vincent to the intimate yacht cruising that defines the Grenadines.
